Why do we need a picture?
Unlike single vision glasses, the process involved in producing varifocal lenses needs to be much more precise to give you the best possible experience.
There are 2 (two) important measurements we can take from a digital photograph of you wearing the frame of your choice.
When you place your order we mail you the frame (together with an alternative choice if required). All we need you to do is take a picture of yourself wearing the frame (ask a friend or relative to do it for you if this is easier).
There are 6 easy ways to send us your digital picture, wearing the frames of your choice.

Take your photo with a digital camera (note: the advice on correct posture, as seen below). Download it to your computer as normal and send it to us as an attachment on an email to sales@freeformvarifocals.co.uk -
Take your photo with a digital camera and use the simple image upload facility at the bottom of the page.

Take your photo with a webcam (if you have one) and follow the steps in point 1 or 2.

Take your photo with a digital camera phone and send it directly to the following dedicated camera phone on the following number; 0151 075 0020 1466, were we will download it into our image measuring software.

Take your photo with a digital camera phone and send it to our email address (most modern phones can do this directly and older models can do this via your computer).

Alternatively, we can accept a passport photo from a booth (obviously wearing your choice of frame) - this costs about £2 - which is a bargain, considering you are saving upwards of £170 on the high street price. (This can be sent in your pre-paid return facility that we send together with your frame/s).
Remember, all your photos are kept totally secure and private (see our privacy policy button below).
Please follow the simple instructions below when taking your picture.

Use a digital camera with a resolution of no less than 1.3 megapixels (most cameras are more than this).

Take a picture of yourself wearing the frames of your choice. The picture should be of your head an shoulders and taken approximately 18 - 24 inches from your face, in a stright backed chair (please see examples below).

Upload the picture to our website or email it to us if your prefer. Please include your name and order reference number (this is supplied with the frame).

Click the browse button below and it will open a small window showing the files on your computer. Select the picture you want and you will see it appear in the preview window. Add your order reference number and name and click upload. This may take a few seconds (depending on the size of your image and speed of your connection).
